State Conference is weekend camp which gives students the opportunity to voice their views to WA's politicians and learn more about the UN and topical international issues.

Each year UN Youth WA runs its annual State Conference, bringing together young leaders from all over the state in a three-day residential conference packed with educational workshops and opportunities for empowerment. The conference provides a great introduction into international issues, global diplomacy and the workings of the United Nations.

During the course of the jam-packed weekend delegates will take part in workshops on the UN and global issues, represent a country in Model United Nations debates, have the opportunity to listen to and question experts, participate in interactive problem solving and have their voice heard in the issue discussion and action workshops known as "Youth Motion".

This year the conference will be themed 'Revolt and Revolution'. In 2011 vast social movements swept the globe planting the seed of democracy in many nations. Delegates will given the opportunity to discuss and develop a greater understanding of this global revolutionary movement in the context of the UN. Delegates will explore the changing nature of revolutions throughout history and will analyse their causes and effects throughout the world.

One of the key areas of State Conference is our unique programme called "Youth Motion". It is a process run over three days where delegates from all across the state come together to discuss educational, legal, social, international and political issues affecting them and the world around them and work to devise a formal action plan. This "Youth Motion" document is formally drafted and voted upon by the delegates and presented to and lobbied to influential persons on a statewide basis.

Of course it's not all hard work! In addition to the amazing educational opportunities State Conference is more than that. It's also about meeting like minded young people and developing lasting friendships. During the conference delegates will be able to participate in the Friday and Saturday night social activities which will guarantee a good time! Run entirely by motivated UN Youth facilitators, it's a weekend you won't ever forget!
